Claudia Coger

President, Astoria Houses Resident Association

As a life-long community leader and the long-time Resident Association President of Astoria Houses, Claudia Coger has worked tirelessly to make Astoria Houses a springboard of economic success for the children that live there. Since the early days of the Save for College Program, under Ms. Coger’s leadership, the Astoria Houses Resident Association has worked hard to make sure that the Save for College Program is integrated into the fabric of the Astoria Houses Community. From launching the kick-off college party with Urban Upbound in Spring 2018, to sponsoring the College Community Breakfast, to sharing information at the regular Astoria Houses Resident Association meetings and Family Days, the Astoria Houses Resident Association has been “all in.” Most recently, the Residents Association raised $1,000 for every child with an NYC Scholarship Account in Astoria Houses — the first-ever Community Scholarship Campaign led by a NYCHA Resident Association and the largest Community Scholarship Campaign to date.
