Madelyn Guzman

First Grade Teacher, P.S. 228

School Team members – Principals, Assistant Principals, Teachers, School Secretaries, Parent Coordinators and so many others – have each played an important role in building the Save for College Program. Ms. Madelyn Guzman, along with teachers throughout Community School District 30, have worked to adapt and implement the optional Save for College Program financial education curriculum in their classrooms. Starting in 2017, NYC Kids RISE worked with the NYC Department of Education and the Mayor’s Office for Economic Opportunity to explore options for financial education curricula that could be customized to include the messaging and activities of the Save for College Program and align with educational standards and existing activities in the classroom.
