Franklin Headley

Principal, VOICE Charter School

The founding district- and school-level partners of the Save for College Program have worked with NYC Kids RISE to launch and customize the platform the way that best supports each school community in this highly diverse school district. VOICE Charter Schools’ Principal Franklin Headley has leveraged the Save for College platform to expand college and career readiness at his school. Here he talks about “529 day”, one of the 6 school-based “anchor events.” 529 Day is an opportunity for the Save for College Program to come together to honor the collective steps that students, families, schools and communities are taking today to build a financial foundation for our youngest students’ educational futures. As a school leader in Long Island City, Principal Headley has been an active participant in the learning community of district and charter schools and been a part of the co-creation of the Program through the pilot years.
