Phoebe Collier

Parent/Guardian

Parent/Guardians have and continue to play a fundamental role in building and adapting the Save for College Program. Phoebe Collier has played a key role in educating other parent/guardians at her children’s school about the Save for College Program. She has presented to other families at Meet the Teacher Nights and served as a resource to members of her Church. As a member of the Center of Hope International, Phoebe helped to organize the first “Concert for College” – leveraging their Black History Month celebration as a Community Scholarship opportunity to support the NYC Scholarship Accounts of students in eight schools located in Long Island City and Astoria. Phoebe and other parents/guardians continue to demonstrate the importance of strong networks and community ties in reinforcing college and career-going possibilities for all students.
